/At least once per week, schedule out time simply to plan and think. Be sure to put it on your calendar as a meeting, so others don’t see the time as available. Some of our best work is done when we’re able to take a step back from the task at hand. If you can, take a short walk outside during your thinking time, or walk around the halls to get your blood moving. Thinking time is incredibly valuable, and guarding it as a regular practice will make you much more effective at your job.

Wal-Mart's Executive Vice President and Global Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer told the Thomson Reuters Financial and Risk Summit that his company is seeking ISO 37001 certification.
"We have begun looking for a company that would certify us,” Jay Jorgensen, said on May 3.
This announcement from the world’s largest retailer comes just a month after Microsoft announced its own plans to seek ISO 37001 certification.

I could not be more excited today to be celebrating the launch of my new book, the Wildly STRATEGIC Compliance Officer Workbook, as well as my first online course, the Wildly STRATEGIC Compliance Officer Academy.
I started writing my latest book more than a year ago in response to the struggles my clients were having identifying how to handle and prioritize risks and how to create their goals and plans. After I finished the initial draft of the book, I decided that the very best way to teach this material would be in an online course where I could show compliance professionals how to go through the workbook, and to provide fill-able templates so that at the end of the course, each person could come away with tangible assets to use with their Board, C-suite and management.
